Role: Art director
Working with festival organisers to curate event themes and develop the aesthetic of the event, whilst keeping to a strict budget.
Designing, commissioning, sourcing and curating all large scale art on site.
Booking both British and international artists, overseeing their work and negotiating their fees.
Working closely with many aspects of production including power, lighting, sound, marketing strategy, film crews, performance and artist liaison.
Managing and directing a team of over 50 art department crew on site over a ten-day period during and after the event.
Writing a build schedule for the event including orders and delivery of all materials for structures, stages and installations.
Creating a database for all artist and personnel’s necessary individual requirements.
Healthy and safety risk assessments, managing the safe practice of onsite work.
Pitching the initial vision of the festival to the client and collaborating to develop the theme and aesthetic of the event whilst keeping to a strict budget.
